New walk-in mobile testing facility in Porthcawl.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University health Board has opened a new walk-in mobile testing facility in Porthcawl.

Based at the Awel-Y-Mor Community Centre in Hutchwns Terrace (CF36 5TP), the centre will be available between 9am – 3.30pm and people will be able to attend without booking an appointment.

The facility is being made available following a recent recorded increase in the number of positive cases of coronavirus within the Porthcawl area.

Anyone who has one of the three main symptoms – a high temperature, a new continuous cough, or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – should arrange a test immediately and self-isolate at home.

Additional testing facilities are also currently available. A drive-through testing facility is based at the site of the former Revlon / Cosi factory off Oakwood Drive in Maesteg (CF34 8TS) between 9am and 5pm, and a walk-through testing facility is at the Bowls Hall car park of Bridgend Life Centre (CF31 4AH) between 2pm and 8pm.

Please note that only the Porthcawl testing facility is providing walk-in access with no prior booking, and that this may change early next week.

To use either of the other two sites, you must book by visiting the Welsh Government website or by calling 119. If you have hearing or speech difficulties, you can call 18001119 to arrange an appointment.

Testing arrangements for the county borough are being constantly reviewed and may change again very soon – look out for further announcements.
