4 of the Best Things to Do in Wales

- Explore the Snowdonia National park
Snowdonia is one of the oldest parks in this country and a mind-boggling place to explore. It’s home to Wales’ highest mountain, Snowdon, but also home to some of the most exciting outdoor attractions in the UK, including the World’s tallest underground zipwire. If you’d rather look at the scenery than hurtle across it at speed, or hike up a mountain, then Snowdon’s mountain railway will allow you to take in the scenery without putting on your hiking boots, taking you all the way to the visitor centre at the top of the mountain. - Plan a Visit to Iconic Portmeirion
If you head towards the north-west side of Wales, you will be delighted to discover iconic Portmeirion, home of the world-reknowned china but a beautiful picture postcard italian style village that attracts tourists in it’s own right. Portmeirion has two stylish hotels, a cluster of self-catering cottages, shops, a spa, cafes and restaurants and an authentic Italian style gelateria – well worth booking several nights.
- Spend a Day in Tenby
Tenby is a beautiful village in Pembrokeshire – and many of the regular visitors come from South Wales towns and cities because of its enchanting views. Once you’re in Tenby, it will be hard for you to take your eyes off the colourful houses. The tiny cottages and beautiful views around will encapsulate your heart. If you don’t plan a visit to Tenby, you won’t do justice to your trip to Wales. This part of the country is applauded for its local seafood, so you must give it a try. Also worth taking is the boat trip to Caldey island, where monks make perfume and chocolate in Caldey Abbey.

Are you a foodie who loves to try new foods? If yes, you must try our Welsh cakes. Although there are plenty of cakes in Wales, these little drop scones filled with fruit are a national treasure, perfect served warm, sometimes with butter and jam, sometimes on their own. Traditionally made on a slate griddle, you’ll find them across Wales, however visiting a Welsh market means you will get to try them the best way, straight from the pan!
