WRW Construction partner with Alcumus SafeContractor to meet increasing demand
Alcumus SafeContractor, the UK’s leading contractor health and safety accreditation, has been appointed by multi-million-pound construction business WRW Construction as a key partner to support their contractors working on a number of significant projects and high-profile contracts across South Wales.
SafeContractor brings a tailored health and safety accreditation that will help WRW working with their contractors to effectively demonstrate compliance. WRW has secured a significant pipeline of contracts to be delivered over the next 18-24 months and working closely with SafeContractor will help support WRW to complete these projects on time, on budget and with minimal health and safety risk.
The SafeContractor scheme makes sure that contractors understand their requirements to safeguard health and safety and new social distancing practices. While the COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenging time for many companies, WRW have secured a strong pipeline of construction projects and now more than ever, required the right support and access to safe, ethical suppliers, to maintain their high standards.
Recognising the challenges currently facing businesses throughout the UK as they navigate COVID-19, Alcumus have developed a new and free-to-use Coronavirus Platform to help businesses return to work safely. The Alcumus COVID-19 Platform provides support to businesses, whether it’s managing employees working from home, integrating them back into work or functioning in a world with disrupted supply chains.
Stuart Brown, Construction Director at WRW, commented: “Alcumus are a perfect partner to support WRW in expanding and improving supply chain efficiency. With SafeContractor, we can quickly and easily source accredited contractors from their 33,000 members. This means we can save time when vetting subcontractors, for policies such as financial background, quality, environment, modern slavery and more. Our partnership with SafeContractor reaffirms our commitment to constructing the visions of our clients.”
Gemma Archibald, Managing Director of Alcumus SafeContractor said: “We’re delighted to support WRW Construction as part of our SafeContractor community. Managing contractors is one of the most challenging areas of health and safety management to ensure that contractors have the right skills and training. More significantly today, companies now have the challenge of determining if new, immediate significant risks have arisen due to the pandemic and therefore the potential risks to employee safety, resulting in a duty to appoint competent, safe contractors. With an effective contractor management system in place, companies can reduce these risks and help to avoid any losses with our solutions.”
