Recruitment agency’s appointment of business advisor proving pivotal
A North Wales company is hitting record turnover and profit, as well as celebrating the launch of a new service, after engaging a business coach and advisor.
Deeside-based Adam Butler Recruitment Consultancy has experienced a 38 per cent increase in sales, and its managing director says engaging David Roberts was a critical part of the success.
Adam Butler started working with David, owner of The Alternative Board (TAB) North Wales in 2018 and has thrived with the 1-2-1 sessions as well as the monthly peer-to-peer group meetings.
In addition to providing the recruitment company with guidance and support on day-to-day operations and management, David worked closely on the strategy and plan to launch executive search brand Hawk Butler.
And after smashing targets and achieving its highest turnover and profit levels in five years, Adam Butler is urging business leaders to consider similar appointments.
He said: “The results speak for themselves. The focus and support we have from David is second-to-none. Of course, it’s all down to the individual on the receiving end of the advice to implement it, but David has been integral on our journey.
“TAB has given me more structure, organisation and accountability. Even my employees see the benefits as the path we are on, and the required actions, are crystal clear.
“It’s not just David keeping me accountable, it’s the other business leaders in my group. I know if there is a challenge I am facing, they are my board waiting to support me.
“The peer-to-peer element and having that board is fantastic. Each member brings a hurdle, opportunity or issue they are facing and David facilitates a conversation across the group to allow everyone to ask questions and offer advice based on their experiences.”
Adam Butler Recruitment works with organisations across the UK, with particular specialisms in finance, retail and fintech.
The introduction of Hawk Butler allows the firm to deliver a full offering to the market, with a focus on senior positions typically with a salary of more than £80k.
David, who has chaired the North Wales Regional Skills Partnership since October 2019, said: “Working with people like Adam is why I love doing what I do.
“He has applied everything to his business and is reaping the rewards. Launching a new brand in the middle of a pandemic was a brave move, but one I am confident will prove pivotal in Adam’s long-term goals.
“The idea of peer-to-peer engagement is all about the pooling of expertise, experience and perspective between members. It offers a place of safety and sanctuary for businesspeople.
“One of the common pieces of feedback we receive is on the group environment and the positive impact it has, and I’m thrilled it’s playing a role in helping Adam exceed his objectives.
“The peer-to-peer format is a huge area of interest and I’m looking for two new business coaches to join me as part of my own growth aspirations.”
