Residents and staff at The Oaks Care Home raising money for Save The Children

Staff and residents at a luxury care home in Mid Wales will be wearing their Christmas jumpers to support Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day on December 11.

They will also be taking part in a range of activities to support their fundraising.

And The Oaks Care Home Activity Co-Ordinator Isabelle Titley will also be paddle boarding around the Welsh reservoir Lake Vyrnwy dressed as Mother Christmas to boost funds.

The Oaks Care Home in Newtown, Powys, opened in January to meet the area’s growing care needs for the elderly and those affected by dementia. The home, part of the Sandstone Care Group, now employs 118 full and part-time staff – an increase of 30 since the summer.

Residents enjoy exceptional standards of care supported by the very latest care planning and nurse-call technology.

Registered Manager Jen Roberts said: “We’re delighted that residents and staff are keen to get involved in this year’s Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

“We have set up a Facebook page for relatives and friends of The Oaks to support us.”
