With snow forecast across much of Wales and a yellow weather warning in place, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has confirmed that all four of its community vaccination centres will reopen on Monday 25 January.

The vaccination centres, which are based at Bridgend, the Rhondda, Abercynon and Merthyr Tydfil, were temporarily closed as a safety precaution ahead of a weather warning and forecasted snowfall, which affected much of Wales throughout Sunday 24 January.

Council workers have been working around the clock to ensure that main routes have remained open and passable with care, and are now focusing resources on clearing and treating secondary routes.

The health board has also confirmed that no vaccines have been wasted as a result of the temporary closure, and that vaccinations at care homes have been able to continue with staff using 4×4 vehicles to get through where necessary.

A large number of appointments were brought forward so they could be completed before the severe weather began, but anyone whose appointment has been arranged and who may have further queries can contact the number provided as part of their appointment letter.

The health board website also features a dedicated section within the Frequently Asked Questions page on its corporate website, https://cwmtafmorgannwg.wales/covid-19-vaccine/
