New meal planner includes five nutritious lunches and five snacks for two kids for under £20 following customer praise for January planner

In January, M&S launched a £20 kids’ breakfast and lunch meal planner for families feeding their children during the week at home.  The purse-friendly, easy to follow ideas and nutritional guidance for kids was met with HUNDREDS of positive comments from parents, including:

It was met with huge enthusiasm; a post on @marksandspencer Instagram was seen by over three million people after floods of users shared the content and tagged friends in the post.

Now almost six weeks into the current lockdown, and hours away from the start of the Half Term holidays for many kids, M&S has launched a brand new, great value £20 meal planner as inspiration for the week ahead – including plenty of fun ways to get little sous chefs involved.

Written by senior in-house nutritionist, Laura Street, this new online planner includes five nutritional lunches and five snacks for two kids – complete with recipes and a shopping list – for under £20.

Many dishes have been created to include fun interactive elements for the kids to get stuck into while off school, including pancake making on Shrove Tuesday, popcorn popping, and getting messy making fishcakes from scratch (don’t forget the aprons!)

The planner can be viewed and downloaded at www.marksandspencer.com/lunchplanner and customers are also encouraged to screenshot it on their phone for ease while shopping in store.

The shopping list is made up of twenty products including fruit, vegetables, protein, bread and grocery staples. Many of the lines are part of M&S Food’s Remarksable Value range of everyday low price staples, including British RSPCA-assured milk for only 50p and vitamin D enriched ‘Best of Both’ bread for only 65p.

Senior M&S Nutritionist, Laura Street said, “We know that our last kids’ meal planner was received brilliantly by families both receiving the government’s Free School Meal vouchers, and those not on the scheme. The need for continued inspiration, tips and advice is universal among parents who are faced with feeding their kids three meals a day. As one customer rightly commented on Instagram, ‘meal planning with kids is a tricky job!’ We hope these new ideas help, and there should be plenty of ingredients spare for parents to enjoy in their own meals too.”

“Half Term week is likely to include the additional challenges of keeping the kids entertained at home, so we’ve made as much of the food creation as interactive and entertaining as possible, while still being hinged around great value. We think there will be lots of fun had flipping pancakes and popping popcorn this week!”
