Shopping Centre Pays Tribute to Tradition with Limited Edition Figure for St David’s Day
St David’s Cardiff has unveiled a special collectible in celebration of St David’s Day on 1st March – a mini figure replica of the Welsh traditional dress, made using real LEGO® pieces.
The exclusively commissioned mini figures have been modelled on the traditional Welsh Lady’s costume, which has been an icon of Wales since the 1830s .
The shopping centre is offering its customers the chance to get their hands on one of only 300 of the Welsh Lady mini figures. Entrants can visit the St David’s website at https://stdavidscardiff.com/welshlegend from 1st March to be in with the chance to win. Winners will be chosen and contacted by the centre team.
The 2021 figure follows the success of the 2020 Mini Welsh Legends collection which included Gareth Bale, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Ruth Jones as Nessa, and Gareth Thomas –which sold out in under 30 minutes.
St David’s hope the figures will bring a sense of pride, nostalgia and raise a smile during these difficult times.
James Waugh, Centre Director at St David’s Cardiff, said: “We’re so excited to immortalise such an iconic Welsh image for St David’s Day, and we think this figure will become a real collector’s item.
“We’re especially excited that the figures have been created from genuine LEGO® bricks, which bring back such fond memories for us all. We’re sure the competition for the figures will be popular, so best of luck and Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus.”
To be in with a chance to win one of the limited edition figures, visit https://stdavidscardiff.com/welshlegend from 1st March 2021. Competition closes 31st March 2021. Prize collections will be arranged when safe to do so, when government guidelines allow the centre to reopen.
