The Lord’s Taverners Wales Announces Return of Annual Memorial Golf Day
Wales’ biggest sporting charity has announced that its annual Ian Spratling Memorial Golf Day will return in the Autumn.
The hugely anticipated event organised by Lord’s Taverners Wales returns on Thursday 16th September after a year’s hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic and will see teams of varying handicaps from across South Wales compete for the charity trophy at the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club.
The event is held annually in memory of ex-Chairman of the Lord’s Taverners Wales Ian Spratling, who passed away in 2001, and raises thousands of pounds for disabled and disadvantaged children.
A team of four is priced at £399, including 18 holes, beginning with a 1pm shotgun start, and refreshments will be served during the event in line with current guidelines.
Andrew Gibson, Chairman of Lord’s Taverners Wales, said: “We are delighted to announce the return of the Ian Spratling Memorial Golf Day. We are looking forward to returning to Royal Porthcawl this year and we are enormously appreciative of their continued support. We are working closely with the club to ensure that everyone can enjoy a round of golf and fundraise in a safe manner.”
