Local charity is searching for 500 supporters to make a difference to their local community of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.

This year, the Hospice will be unable to host several of our large-scale fundraising events. Even after Government support, the charity will still be short of what is needed to keep their doors open, which is why St David’s need you.

The local adult hospice are searching for 500 supporters to be a part of their first-ever #500 Hearts Campaign and raise a minimum of £100 each.

Head of Fundraising, Andrew Everley explains:

“St David’s Hospice is a very special place and is close to the hearts of many people in the local community. Sadly, for the second year running, the majority of our community fundraising events will not be able to go ahead including the annual Summer Fete, the Dragon Boat Challenge and our Colour Runs. This will mean a huge loss of income for the Hospice.

“You can choose how you would like to fundraise, from taking part in a physical challenge to donating the money you would normally spend on your morning coffee and cake.

“We hope that the community will use their imagination and creativity to come up with ways to raise a minimum of £100. If 500 people take part in the 500 Hearts campaign, it will raise at least £50,000 for end-of-life care across North West Wales.”

Eight year-old Millie Jones from Old Colwyn, enjoyed taking part in her ‘Marvellous Mission’ for St David’s Hospice to show her support for the charity which is close to her heart. She rode 20 miles to Rhyl and back on the North Wales coastal path to say thank you for the care given to her Nana.

Millie said:

“I love my Nana very much. I am amazed by how fantastic St David’s Hospice have been at looking after her. She has special treatments and care. I wanted to do the ride to make Nana happy and proud of me.”
