Mrs Buckét kickstarts job search for 100 new employees

Mrs Buckét, the award-winning commercial cleaning company which services Wales and the South West of England, today announces its first recruitment drive where it aims to recruit 100 new employees.

The demand for commercial cleaning services continues to grow because of the COVID-19 pandemic, evidenced by the exponential rate of growth Mrs Buckét has experienced in the past 18 months. The business has won 14 new clients in 2021 alone and is expected to reach a turnover of £4m by the end of this year compared to £2.9m in 2020 – a 45 per cent growth year on year.

Hygiene management is at the forefront of the agenda for many businesses while they look to prevent coronavirus transmission in the workplace – especially as we head into the winter months. Understandably, many are seeking advice from experts to ensure utmost protection.

“Businesses are daunted by their duty to provide a safe and hygienic workplace for their employees”, explained Mrs Buckét CEO, Rachael Flanagan. “Those who welcome customers and visitors onto their premises are conscious to ensure that their sites are COVID-secure.

As a result, we’re receiving an unprecedented volume of enquiries, particularly for our specialist deep-clean, decontamination and disinfection services. To meet this growing demand, we’re on a mission to expand our team.”

Ms Flanagan is expecting to grow her current 300-strong team by at least 30 per cent in the next 12 months to fulfil demand. However, with so many part- and full-time opportunities to offer, she has decided to do things a little bit differently when it comes to attracting the best talent.

“We’re determined to make things fun,”she commented. “We’ve shredded our application forms and won’t be subjecting anyone to a formal interview. We want people to come and interview us instead!”.

The recruitment drive with a difference will kick off with two Jobs Fairs at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay on:

  • Thursday 16th September from 2pm – 8pm
  • Sunday 19th September from 12pm – 6pm

Visitors should expect a fun and interactive experience, including refreshments, a ‘rubber gloves off’ Q&A session with existing team members, a tour of the building, competitions, prizes, and the opportunity to play with some of Mrs Buckét’s high-tech equipment.

The business is delighted to be recruiting for a senior position in the prestigious Millennium Centre itself (Site Manager). It is also looking for an Account Manager in Cardiff, Mobile Supervisors in Cardiff, Swansea, and Bristol, as well as Cleaning Technicians in the Cardiff area.

Mrs Buckét’s Operations Director, Yvette Wilkins, said:

“If people like what they see at the event and think we’ll be a good match, we can even get down to business there and then.

Anyone who is genuinely interested in joining the team can discuss the opportunities available with one of our managers. There’ll be no pressure or trick questions; just an honest opportunity to get to know us.

The beauty about cleaning is that it can fit in with most people’s lifestyles. Our team includes young parents, grandparents, early birds, night owls, students and people who are in-between careers. Most come to us with little or no experience, but that’s not a problem as we offer specialist training through the Mrs Buckét Cleaning Academy. There are definite career opportunities too. Several of our senior team members have moved up through the ranks and we love nothing more than to promote from within.”
