Parents and carers reminded to redeem their food payment vouchers
Parents and carers of children who are eligible for free school meals in Bridgend County Borough are being reminded that if they have not redeemed their food payment voucher for the recent October half-term holiday by 21 November, it will expire.
New arrangements rolled out last month saw parents and carers issued with a £19.50 voucher via email or mobile text message.
The voucher is redeemable by parents and carers at any ‘PayPoint’ outlet for cash to be used for food for their child. PayPoint outlets are often located in local shops, major supermarkets and fuel filling stations.
The Cabinet Member for Education and Regeneration, Cllr Charles Smith said: “The food payment vouchers were introduced this October half-term to provide parents and carers of children eligible for free school meals with greater flexibility to be able to source their own food.
“We would like to remind any parent or carer who has not redeemed their food payment already that they have until 21 November to do so before it expires and it will not be replaced.”
Any parent or carer who has still not received a payment voucher for the October half-term holiday should contact FSMCOVID19@bridgend.gov.uk
