Georgia-Thomson-Chair-2022

Women in Property has announced its incoming South Wales Chair for 2022/23. Georgia Thomson takes on the role leading the regional property and construction industry influencing and networking organisation, from 1st March, for one year.

Georgia is Commercial Manager, South at Englobe UK and based in Cardiff, where she specialises in the remediation of brownfield sites and sustainable re-use of treated contaminated soil.

Georgia said, “To achieve diversity in an organisation, you have first to be inclusive.  This has been the Women in Property ethos since its inception back in 1987 and our work continues with this at our core. Now, the conversation is less about gender specifically and has a greater focus on inclusion. We must continue to break through the barriers, the preconceived ideas that still make it difficult for many people to succeed, whether because of gender, race, age, disability or social mobility.

Simon Walker, Head of Sales, Englobe UK said,  “We are proud of Georgia and wish her all the best for the role of Women in Property South Wales Chair for 2022/2023. Georgia is a fantastic ambassador for Englobe across all facets of the company and will certainly be a valued leader for Women in Property in South Wales. I look forward to the initiatives in the forthcoming year.”

Georgia will be supported in her role by incoming Vice Chair, Laura Beddis, Business Development Manager of Galliford Try.  Georgia will hold the role of South Wales Chair until 28th February 2023, when Laura succeeds her.

Women in Property in South Wales is supported by Englobe UK and Galliford Try. The organisation is volunteer-led and runs both in person and virtual events, including CPD-style sessions, panel discussions and soft skills, site visits and social networking, as well as participating in the organisation’s Outreach, Mentoring and Student Awards programmes.
