Chepstow based Design and Manufacturing Consultancy Win Significant Welsh Government Contract

ITERATE Design and Innovation, a Chepstow-based consultancy, have secured a significant Welsh Government contract aimed at enhancing design and manufacturing capability within Welsh SMEs.

The two-year programme, known as SMART Productivity & Design, is intended to stimulate the development of new products, manufacturing process improvement and the creation of intellectual property through fully funded diagnostic and implementation support.

The scheme can be accessed by businesses in sectors such as aerospace; automotive; medical; and consumer; as well as small innovative enterprises. Over the lifetime of the project, ITERATE are hoping to engage with up to 90 businesses who can benefit from bespoke one-to-one consultancy intervention.

Gethin Roberts, Managing Director of ITERATE, said:

“We are thrilled to be working with Welsh Government. ITERATE have previously supported the delivery of their SMART Innovation programme and have experienced first-hand how businesses from all corners of Wales have improved their design and manufacturing capacity. It’s been fantastic to see so many Welsh businesses launch exciting new products into the market, as well as improving the efficiency of their manufacturing facilities after leveraging this support.”

While the programme is concentrated on facilitating research and development, it intends to nurture the objectives of the Well-being of Future Generations Act – assisting with the creation of jobs; development of local communities; building economic resilience; thriving culture and promotion of the Welsh language; as well as demonstrating global responsibility.
