Award winning author, keynote speaker and business mentor Bernie Davies joined other leading Welsh female entrepreneurs, including multi-award winning Innovator and Founder of Nyfasi Dr Youmna Mouhamad, Marianne Pettifor of Frogmore Consulting and  Rachael Flanagan, at the invitation of the Secretary of State for Wales at Gwydyr House in Whitehall last week.  The event included many successful South Wales businesswomen – and Bernie even met other female entrepreneurs who told her they had launched successful businesses after listening to her deliver a talk or having read her book!

Bernie explains:

“It is always a pleasure to represent Wales at entrepreneurial events for women, both as part of the Swansea and West Wales Introbiz Network and as a successful publisher, regional business leader and business coach who has mentored both start-ups and accelator businesses.  Wales is a powerhouse of entrepreneurial talent, with some incredible ideas out there and it’s always great to play a part in helping people take those ideas and convert them into a successful enterprise.

“You always wonder who reads your book, but a number of other women at the event also came up, telling me how either my book or one of the talks I have given over the years has inspired them.  It’s truly life affirming and there is nothing that inspires me more than seeing other women succeed in business.

“I gifted a copy of my book to Secretary of State for Wales Simon Hart MP- he sent a personal message to me after the event saying I was an inspiration and he was very grateful for my book! What an honour!

“In Wales we have a can-do Government which offer lots of support for fledgling businesses and I am proud to play my part in helping businesses of all sizes to thrive – but there’s no better reward for the part I play than watching other businesses succeed.

“Success breeds success and Wales is a great place to do business.  I have always said that everyone has a business or a book in them – it’s my privilege to help them bring those ideas to life – and even more so to know that the start ups I am working with now could be here at the next event.”
