May half-term digital payment vouchers for pupils eligible for free school meals

Families in Bridgend County Borough, whose children are eligible to receive free school meals, will shortly receive a digital payment voucher for the half-term break.

The voucher for £19.50 for the half-term week will be sent directly to families in the coming days via email or mobile text message.

It will be redeemable at any ‘PayPoint’ outlet which are often located in local shops, major supermarkets and fuel filling stations.

Eligible parents will receive email vouchers from no-reply@paypointsvp.com and text vouchers will show as sent from ‘Cash Out’.

Parents and carers can find their nearest Pay Point by following the link below: https://consumer.paypoint.com/

Parents/carers should present the voucher barcode at their nearest PayPoint where it will be redeemed with the applicable amount which is to be used for food and drinks for your child only.  Please be aware at the present time ‘cash out’ facilities are not available at McColls retailers.

Parents and carers are asked to keep an eye on their spam/junk email and if they haven’t received a voucher via email or text by Wednesday 25 May, they should email FSMCOVID19@bridgend.gov.uk providing full details for their child/children and the school they attend so this can be investigated.

Parents and carers should note that vouchers are sent out in batches and it is not uncommon for vouchers for children in the same household to receive their vouchers at different times.

Cllr Jon-Paul Blundell, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “Since the beginning of the pandemic we have supported children and families out of term time by continuing to provide free school meals. I am pleased to announce that we will be continuing this support during the upcoming half term week. The vouchers can be redeemed at a wide variety of shops throughout the County Borough allowing flexibility for Parents/carers.”
