Bringing lime products to Wales – Celtic Sustainables and Lime Green

“Lime is becoming more and more important in the industry, especially for older buildings,” says Anthony Kerr, general manager, Celtic Sustainables. “That’s why we started working with Lime Green, it provided exactly what we needed and what our customers were looking for.”

Celtic Sustainables, based in Cardigan, Wales, distributes environmentally-friendly products for buildings. It has been trading since 2008 to provide sustainable alternatives to paints and has gone from strength to strength since it was established.

“We’ve recently expanded our environmentally-friendly products range, from wood treatments to fuels and insulation, with products that help people to save money on their energy bills, which is more important than ever right now.”

Stocking sustainable products

“As a part of our sustainable journey, we’ve been selling insulation boards from different suppliers for years. However Lime Green was a name that kept coming up in the industry for suitable renders. We deal with a lot of Warmshell boards, because of their natural, breathable qualities, and there aren’t many renders that are suitable for this type of insulation,” continues Anthony.

“We were researching into different suppliers, and we realised how wide Lime Green’s range is for premixed products and mortars. This seemed like a natural fit for Celtic Sustainables and especially for our customers, who are mainly end users who want something simple and easy – so working with Lime Green just made sense.”

A key supplier

“Lime Green is absolutely a key supplier for us right now, and we’ve been taking active steps to continue to stock more and more fast moving lime products,” says Anthony.

“We took a visit to Lime Green for a training day, which was extremely informative. Taking a look at the site, it’s an extremely impressive facility, the plant is a jaw-dropping size, and it’s all just so impressive – they’re able to fill a one tonne bag of lime in just 15 seconds.”

“We love working with Lime Green, and we’ve found the service has always been second to none. The team will always let us know once things have been dispatched, and all administration is always on time. We can see they’re a very professional outlet and this is evident through the success of the business,” continues Anthony.

A wide product portfolio

Celtic Sustainables now stocks a wide range of Lime Green’s products including: Natural Finish External Lime Render, Onecoat Lime Plaster, Render Mesh, Warmshell Woodfibre Insulation Boards, Warmshell Board Adhesive, Insulating Render, Solo Filler, Solo Primer, Preparation Coating, Render Base Coat and Hempcrete Binder.

“We’re really enjoying working with Celtic Sustainables, they’re a pleasure to work with. We’re just extremely happy to help them to spread lime products across the country in a time where we all need to focus on how we can make buildings more environmentally friendly,” comments Simon Ayres, Lime Green.
