Pro Steel Engineering tees up Abergavenny golfer’s dream
Pro Steel Engineering has sponsored an inspiring golfer from Abergavenny to help him achieve his dream of playing professional one day. 11-year-old Oliver Hulbert has already seen huge success by competing in the European Championships earlier this year, and recently qualified for the Under 11 US World Championships hosted in North Carolina, for which he finished in 32ndplace out of 142 participants.
He is now busy practicing at least three times a week, in a bid to compete in the Champion of Champions event in Ireland next year, where he’s currently sitting at the top of the Robert Rock Junior Golf Tour’s order of merit.
A pupil at King Henry VIII School, Oliver started playing golf aged three and when not travelling the world, he is a member at Monmouthshire GC and Wernddu GC.
Oliver said of his biggest sponsorship partnership to date: “A big thank you to Richard and Pro Steel for sponsoring me, it’s really cool. I’d love to play and compete in America again, and one day become a professional golfer.”
Proud dad Paul is appreciative of the support shown by the local company and said: “Between the travelling and the equipment, golf is an expensive sport, so we’re extremely grateful to Richard and look forward to keeping him updated with Oliver’s progress.”
Richard Selby, director and co-founder, Pro Steel Engineering said: “Oliver’s success at such a young age speaks for itself, and we are thrilled to play a small part in him achieving his goals. We’ve told him to remember us when he’s famous one day and we wish him the very best in his up-and-coming tournaments.”
