Carmarthenshire County Council and partners are set to host a money advice event in Ammanford, Llanelli and Carmarthen Hwbs on Friday 27th January from 10am until 4pm.

Expert Money Mentors will provide advice on money matters including tips on budget planning as well as helping to manage money effectively by reviewing outgoings and completing budget planners to help keep finances on track.

The Council’s friendly Hwb Advisers will also provide residents with tailored packages of support on what they are entitled to claim based on their individual circumstances. This includes:

 

  • Housing benefit
  • Council tax/council tax reduction
  • Energy efficiency
  • Heating your home
  • Fuel clubs
  • Employment support
  • School uniform/meals grants
  • Winter fuel support scheme
  • Universal credit
  • Homelessness risk
  • Housing issues

 

Information from other partners will also be available throughout the day.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Linda Evans said: “This event will again bring partners together to provide cost of living support to our residents, with a range of budgeting, money and cost of living advice available under one roof.

I’m delighted that we have trained Money Mentors at this event to provide a range of advice to help everyone make the most of their money, whatever their circumstances.”
