Popham Kidney Support raises £5k for Children’s Kidney Centre at Spring Ball fundraising event
Popham Kidney Support hosted its inaugural Spring Ball at The Bear Hotel in Cowbridge on Saturday, March 25, raising over £5,000 for the charity.
The Spring Ball was Popham Kidney Support’s first marquee event of its tenth anniversary and raised vital funds for the charity that provides emotional, physical and financial support to children, youths and adults with kidney disease and their families across Wales.
The charity’s ambassador and Welsh TV personality, Sian Lloyd, hosted the event which involved an awards ceremony, rewarding those who had played a vital part in supporting the charity and its fundraising efforts over the past 12 months.
The sponsors of the sold-out event were DWJ Wealth Management, Atkins Pensions, and Seren Global Media. The funds raised on the evening will be put towards the charity’s target of raising £130,000 for the refurbishment of the Children’s Kidney Centre at Cardiff & Vale University Hospital.
Throughout the night, guests were treated to a three-course meal and entertainment that included live music from local band, Who’s Molly?, and an auction, which saw guests bidding on an array of prizes.
Popham Kidney Support CEO, Joanne Popham, said:
“We are thrilled with the success of our Spring Ball and would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the event and to all who have supported the charity over the last 10 years. Thank you to The Bear Hotel for its hospitality and support in hosting the event, as well as to all the sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped make the Spring Ball such a fantastic success.
“The funds raised will make a tremendous difference to the lives of those affected by kidney disease and their families, and we are grateful for the support of our community in making this possible.”
Sian Lloyd, Popham Kidney Support Ambassador, said:
