Rhondda Cynon Taf opticians celebrates 10 years in business with Pen y Fan charity climb

A Talbot Green opticians has marked its 10-year anniversary this month [July] by completing a charity walk up the highest mountain in South Wales.

On 2 July 2023, the team of eight from Specsavers Talbot Green climbed Pen y Fan in aid of mental health charity Mind.

The store set a fundraising target of £500, but surpassed this goal and donated a total of £670.07 to the charity.

Hannah Davies, Specsavers Talbot Green director, says: ‘We are very proud of our team’s accomplishment and grateful for the overwhelming support from our community. As we celebrate 10 years in business, it is an honour to support Mind Charity, and just want to say a massive thank you to all those that donated – your contributions will directly benefit Mind’s efforts to improve mental health services and support those in need.’

Hannah Davies, along with business partner Adam Thomas, opened the store on 27 July 2013 and since then has seen the team grow from five members of staff to 23.
