PKS-10-Year-Ball-127-scaled (1)
Save the date as Popham Kidney Support announces its second Annual Spring Ball on March 15, 2024, at the Bear Inn, Cowbridge. Building on the success of the previous year, the charity is calling on local businesses to support their mission of raising generous funds for children facing kidney disease.

Sponsored by Swansea Building Society, the Spring Ball will feature a lineup of special guests, including host Sian Lloyd, TV presenter and Popham Kidney Support Ambassador, along with co-host Kevin Johns and the entertaining Indie band, Who’s Molly?. Anticipating a gathering of over 100 guests, comprising volunteers, healthcare professionals, and dedicated charity supporters, the event promises an evening of impact and community spirit.

The event will also feature five awards, which will recognise and reward supporters, volunteers and kidney patients for their contributions to Popham Kidney Support. Voting for these awards is open now on the Popham Kidney Support website.

A total of £5,000 was raised at last year’s annual ball, which the charity hopes to surpass this year, in order to continue to aid the Children’s Kidney Centre at University Hospital Wales, and the care and support it provides to patients and their loved ones.

Popham Kidney Support is encouraging businesses to participate by sponsoring the event, either by booking a table or purchasing tickets. This support will contribute to raising funds for children with kidney disease, enabling them to experience a better quality of life.

Popham Kidney Support was originally founded as The Paul Popham Fund, Renal Support Wales, in March 2013. The organisation was established six months after the passing of Paul Popham, father to the current CEO, Joanne Popham. Today, under Joanne Popham’s leadership, Popham Kidney Support continues to honour Paul Popham’s legacy and brave battle with kidney disease and kidney cancer, by providing support and raising awareness for those facing kidney-related challenges. Entering its eleventh year, the charity has grown significantly, offering help to over 3,000 people last year alone.
