Carmarthenshire County Council to Host Ten Towns Circular Economy Event at Sero Carmarthen
In partnership with the Sero Climate and Environment Centre in Carmarthen, community groups across Carmarthenshire are invited to a circular economy event scheduled for March 14, 2024.
Sero will take us through their journey of establishing their current projects as they showcase their impressive array of circular economy facilities and projects during the event. Attendees will gain insights into the innovative strategies and sustainable practices that underpin Sero’s initiatives, contributing to the broader vision of a circular economy.
The discussion will extend to explore funding opportunities, including the unique “seed corn funding,” tailored for circular economy initiatives within the Ten Towns, providing community groups with the opportunity for access. This fund aims to foster innovation and sustainability within our local communities by providing up to £5,000 per project, per Ten Town.
Post-presentations, attendees will have the chance to participate in a Q&A session and network during refreshments. This gives community groups the opportunity to delve into bid proposals, engage with Sero officials on ongoing projects, and foster meaningful conversations.
This SPF funded event underscores the vital role of community participation in collectively building a more sustainable future for local communities. This personalised engagement aims to empower community leaders, enabling them to navigate the complexities of circular economy projects and further their commitment to sustainability.
By bringing together diverse voices, the event seeks to strengthen the shared commitment to environmental sustainability and local resilience, driving progress towards a circular economy.
Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Decarbonisation and Sustainability – Cllr. Aled Vaughan Owen said: “In the journey toward a circular economy, we must recognise the power of community engagement. As we host the Ten Towns Circular Economy Event in collaboration with the Sero Climate and Environment Centre, we are not just showcasing projects; we are fostering a collective vision for sustainable living.”
