A community garden has served up a feast for foraging to create delicious delights at an event.

Corwen Community Garden, at Green Lane, recently hosted a Feast and Forage event, supported by Nature for Health.

Nature for Health is a collaborative project that works together with individuals and communities to highlight the role access to nature can have in improving health and wellbeing. The Nature for Health Programme has received funding from UK Government.

Attendees were guided through the garden by Chef Aimee Walker from Earthly Feasts, choosing herbs to garnish their freshly made cabbage rolls, sundried tomato butter and finishing with stuffed dates.

Councillor Alan James, Denbighshire Cabinet Lead Member for Local Development and Planning, said:

“We think it’s really beneficial for people’s health and wellbeing to not only be involved with the planting, but the cooking and eating too, and this has been a fantastic event at Corwen Community Garden to experience all of this.”

The nature for health project run sessions in the garden and is open to anyone who wants to be involved in a community project, looking to get outside more, improve their health and wellbeing or just wants to pop by for a cup of tea and a chat.

You can join in every Wednesday 1-3pm in the garden or click the link below to find the current events programme.
