Welshpool-based packaging supplier, Wipak UK, has been recognised for its employee wellbeing efforts in the prestigious 2024 Investors in People Awards.

Employing 115 people at its factory on Buttington Cross Enterprise Park, the company was shortlisted in the Health and Wellbeing (up to 500 employees) category, alongside businesses from across the country.

“Wipak UK’s safety, health, and wellbeing projects are not just initiatives but a cornerstone of the business strategy,” explained Human Resources Manager, Clare Cox. “Our people are our greatest asset, and by aligning our wellbeing efforts with our business goals, we have created a supportive, thriving workplace that stands out in the industry and cements our reputation as an employer of choice.”

The shortlisting comes at a time when only 39% of UK employees feel that work impacts their mental health positively and just 31% feel it has a positive effect on their physical health, according to the CIPD Good Work Index 2024.

“At Wipak UK, we recognise the importance of providing an inspiring and supportive work environment that nurtures employees both personally and professionally,” continued Clare. “To be recognised by Investors in People is a testament to our unwavering commitment to our employees’ welfare. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and look forward to building on this success in the future.”

Winners of the 2024 Investors in People Awards will be revealed at a glamourous awards ceremony on 13 November at Old Billingsgate in London.
