Macmillan Cancer Support scoop Silver Award for Information and Support Bus Bronwen in Wales
Macmillan Cancer Support scooped a silver award last night for their campaign to highlight their information and support bus Bronwen in Wales.
The charity’s Wales communication team won silver for their campaign with Cowshed in the healthcare campaign category at the Pride Cymru Wales awards ceremony in Cardiff on Friday night.
The #SpotBronwen / #BleMaeBronwen campaign encouraged people to spot Macmillan’s travelling information and support bus across Wales on social media and was supported by actor Michael Sheen and Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon.
The hashtags reached more than 2 million people and led to a 5 per cent visitor increase to the service.
It’s the second year in a row the team’s scooped a silver award. Last year they won silver for not-for-profit campaign.
Kerry-Lynne Pyke, Macmillan’s Senior External Communications Manager in Wales, said:
“We were thrilled to scoop silver for this campaign with Cowshed to help people know about our information and support bus Bronwen, which brings cancer support to communities across Wales.
“More than 19,000 people in Wales are told they have cancer every year and we hope this campaign highlighted the support Macmillan’s Bronwen bus offers to help people manage the financial, emotional and practical impact cancer can have.”
