A major new force in the Welsh housing and care sector has officially revealed its new identity. The not-for-profit organisation formed from the merger of Pobl Group and Linc Cymru in April 2024 will be known as Codi Group.

The name, drawn from the Welsh word for “Rise,” reflects both the organisation’s cultural roots and its ambitions for the future. Codi Group will formally adopt the new brand on 1st January 2026.

With responsibility for managing close to 25,000 homes and providing care and support to nearly 17,000 people, the newly combined organisation already plays a significant role in Welsh communities. Over the next five years, Codi Group has set its sights on delivering more than 4,500 additional homes, alongside enhancing care and support services across Wales.

Scott Sanders, Group Chief Executive of Pobl Group, explained the significance of the rebranding:

“I am proud to introduce Codi Group—a name that reflects our purpose and our Welsh roots. When we merged in 2024, we said that the opportunity presented us with the chance to create a fresh outlook, and ambition, aligned to the needs of the communities we work with.

“Over the last year, listening to the voices of our customers and colleagues, we have collectively started to shape how we look, what we do and who we are. Now, it’s time for us to become Codi Group, a single organisation shaped by shared values, a unified purpose, and a commitment to doing more for our customers and colleagues.

“At a time when change is happening faster than ever, integrating as one team with one mission creates a stronger, more resilient, future-ready organisation deeply connected to its local communities.

“We are excited about the future and the opportunity we now have, building more of the quality affordable homes that Wales needs and delivering more, and better, services for our customers, in the communities where they live.”

The Group employs more than 3,000 staff, making it a significant contributor to the Welsh economy. According to its leadership, the merger and rebranding reflect a broader ambition to deliver greater consistency, clarity, and support to its customers.

Codi Group’s mission statement — “Through shared ambition, we build the foundations for a better future” — underpins its strategic vision of generating long-term local impact through collective strength. The organisation also emphasises a strong set of core values which will guide its work:

  • Compassionate: showing care and empathy to customers, colleagues and communities.

  • Authentic: maintaining honesty, transparency, and consistency.

  • Progressive: embracing innovation and adapting to meet changing needs.

The formation of Codi Group represents one of the most significant mergers in the Welsh social housing and care sector in recent years, with its leadership hopeful that the move will create a more resilient and forward-looking organisation capable of tackling the growing demand for affordable housing and high-quality care services.
