Former Wales Police Chief Inspector launches new consultancy & training service
Rhiannon Ivens, formerly a Police Chief Inspector, has dived into the private sector and established and launched her own consultancy, Double Back Solutions, with the strong desire to support and protect businesses and organisations across all sectors.
Ivens joined the police in 2004, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2007, Inspector in 2012 and promoted again to Chief Inspector in 2017. With over fifteen years’ service in policing, many of which at a (senior) leadership level, she has worked in three different police force areas – London, Wales and Hampshire.
During her tenure, Ivens was responsible for a wide variety of portfolios, including Mental Health, Hate Crime, Community Safety, Operational Policing, Equality and Diversity and Professional Standards and she has over-seen and successfully delivered on ambitious crime reduction targets set in London. She has held command roles during large scale policing events and firearms operations.
With over fifteen years of experience under her belt, Ivens has now decided to establish her own advisory business. From the base in Cardiff, Double Back Solutions provides consulting, risk advisory, information security, equality and diversity offerings, as well as training services.
“In an increasingly complex environment, Double Back Solutions aims to take the worry away and support our clients to ensure they’re protected across a number of areas. We specialise in nine portfolios, including Equality and Diversity, Information Security and Risk Assurance, with a view to raising awareness of the potential pitfalls for businesses and to provide solutions that make a tangible impact.”
Asked about how the firm will stand out in a crowded consulting space, Ivens said,
“We are different to our competitors, straight talking and no nonsense to deliver the best professional service and with no hidden costs.”
Providing an example of this, Ivens pointed at the firm’s GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) proposition.
“Our GDPR package is prepared and delivered custom made for our clients at only £200. Most consulting firms charge upwards of £2,000 for this service, so we are confident that we are catering for small and medium businesses and even start-ups that need to make sure they get off on the right foot and are fully compliant with the legislation.”
