Aber Falls launches its search for a local hero, inviting them to officially open the distillery’s new Farmer’s Market on 19th November.

The Aber Falls fortnightly Farmer’s Market in Abergwyngregyn, will provide local producers with the opportunity to sell their products to the public, from permanent, authentic market stalls, and the Aber Falls team is looking to mark this special occasion with a local hero from the community, who also deserves to be celebrated.

The local hero could be someone who has overcome adversity during the pandemic, they could be a young carer who deserves to be celebrated for the selfless work they do, or they could be a member of the community who volunteers for a local cause.

Maddie Williams, Events & Marketing Manager at Aber Falls Distillery said: “Community spirit is at the heart of Aber Falls Distillery, and the Aber Falls Farmer’s Market will regularly bring together the community, with a combination of suppliers and visitors.’’

“To commemorate the official opening of our Farmer’s Market, we will be honoured to celebrate a local hero who has gone over and above to help their community, and it will make the day so much more special to be able to honour our local hero, and to share this special event with them.’’

The Aber Falls Farmer’s Market is funded by the Coastal Communities Fund and is supported by its funding officer, Hywel Lovgreen: “Aber Falls is highly supportive of local businesses and the area, as a whole. It is this type of synergy that benefits all involved. “

To enter the competition, people are asked to outline why their local hero should be celebrated.

The Aber Falls team will select their top three local heroes, with a gift for the runners up. The winning local hero will be invited, as a VIP, and officially open the first Aber Falls Farmer’s Market alongside Sian Lloyd, the Welsh presenter.  They will also be presented on the day with a Deluxe Christmas box.
