Aber Falls Distillery in Abergwyngregyn has today released a brand new ‘Distillery Exclusive’ Single Malt whisky, with just 540 bottles being made available from its Visitor Centre.
Distilled with 100% Welsh malted barley the Single Malt Whisky is unique. Amber gold in colour, the expression produces notes of sweet summer fruits, with hints of treacle toffee on the nose, whilst the palate delivers hints of hints of dark chocolate, coffee, and dried fruit, balanced with the summer fruit and creamy character of Aber Falls.
The Distillery Exclusive’s flavour is balanced beautifully with the rich grape and dark chocolate notes from the Italian Barolo casks.
Dr Kirstie McCallum, Master Blender at Aber Falls Distillery, said: “One of the great advantages of being a Welsh distillery is our ability to be able to experiment with different wood types and barrels. In turn, we can create unique whiskies and our Distillery Exclusive Barolo matured single malt is a great example of this, balancing the rich opulence of Barolo wine beautifully with the berries and cream of Aber Falls.”
Aber Falls whiskies are distilled, matured and bottled in North Wales, between the foothills of the Snowdonian mountains and the Menai straits. They are crafted using 100% Welsh malted barley and rock-filtered water taken from the Aber Falls Waterfall and are crafted by a team of local people.
The Aber Falls ‘Distillery Exclusive’ Single Malt Welsh Whisky is bottled at 52% ABV and available to purchase from the distillery’s shop at an RRP of £65 – while stocks last!
