Actors and fans send their support and get well messages to Swansea Film Director Andrew Jones

As we reported yesterday, Swansea Film Director Andrew Jones has been struck down with a complex illness which has left him bedridden, unable to work and facing eviction from the Swansea home he shares with his wife, Sharron.  Andrew is dependent on his producer wife Sharron as his full time carer, and the desperate couple are raising funds to find suitable disabled-friendly accommodation and fund treatment for Andrew.

However, amid their plight, the couple have been really uplifted by positive video messages from both horror film fans and the many actors who have worked on Andrew’s 29 films, which include the successful Robert the Doll series.  The appeal has now reached 10% of their target and Sharron says many of the 152 donors and fans have not even met Andrew in person, and they are touched by the outpouring of generosity from strangers but also by the kind comments from the people who know him and have worked with him.

Actor Darren Swain who starred in Werewolves of the Third Reich, The Revenge of Robert, Jurassic Predator, The Manson Family Massacre, shared this uplifting video:

Andrew also received encouraging words from actor / Rockstar Lee Mark Jones aka Gypsy Lee Pistolero who starred in 5 of Andrew’s films ~ Theatre of Fear (Midnight Horror Show), Werewolves of the Third Reich, The Revenge of Robert the Doll, Jurassic Predator, The Manson Family Massacre.

Sharron says the positive messages are as important as the fundraising, as they are helping Andrew feel more positive about their situation.  She says:

“As he struggles with an adrenal illness that is made worse by stress, he really couldn’t be in a worse position, facing eviction, however both Andrew and myself continue to be lifted at the generosity, love, encouraging comments and videos sent by actors, film fans and former colleagues who have starred in our films and worked with us.  In a situation where we are so uncertain of the next step, such kindness has been truly inspirational and is giving us the strength to keep going.”
