Alex Davies-Jones MP visits Maximus office in Pontypridd to see how employment support transforms lives

Alex Davies-Jones, Labour MP for Pontypridd, visited the Maximus office in Pennant House on Monday (7/8/23) to meet local participants and learn more about the local team’s work delivering specialised employment support in her constituency.

As a leading provider of employment support services in Wales, Maximus has supported thousands of people over the past year, helping them to overcome their barriers, learn new skills and find sustainable employment.

With more than 75 years’ experience in Wales, Maximus services are tailored to helping participants with a variety of needs. This includes groups typically disadvantaged in the labour market, including those who have a health condition or disability, the long-term unemployed and ex-offenders.

Maximus delivery in Pontypridd is underpinned by the Community Partnership Network (CPN), which utilises the skills and expertise of dozens of local organisations in the public, private and third sectors to integrate and align services for jobseekers. During the visit, Ms Davies-Jones met with CPN member Stori, the housing and domestic abuse support charity, that support Maximus participants including physical and mental wellbeing programmes, and housing, debt, and addiction advice.

After meeting colleagues and local participants at our office, Alex Davies-Jones MP, said: “I was really pleased to visit the Maximus office, meet the staff and see for myself the great work going on that is helping people find work in our town. I welcome Maximus’s ongoing commitment to partnerships with local businesses and charities to deliver employment support. I look forward to seeing more of my constituents benefit from this support in the months ahead.”

Helen Cornet, Maximus UK Community Partnership Manager said: “We were delighted to welcome Alex Davies-Jones MP to our Pontypridd office today. It was a great opportunity for her to get an insight into the work we are doing day in and day out to support local people into employment. We are proud of our community based approach which is ensuring people in Pontypridd have the best access possible to a wide-range of career options.”
