Allports holds a successful recruitment event at Porthmadog Careers Wales Centre
Working Wales, in partnership with Allports, recently hosted a successful recruitment event for job seekers at the Careers Wales centre in Porthmadog.
The event took place on Friday, 21 June, providing attendees the opportunity to explore a diverse range of vacancies across Allports‘ establishments, including their fish and chip shops, petrol station, and café.
Representatives from Allports were present at the event to provide detailed information about the roles offered, including job descriptions, duties, and pay, as well as answering any questions.
As a result, one individual has secured a job offer and further work trials have been set up with Allports.
The event was well-attended, with individuals receiving the chance to do same-day interviews by bringing their CVs. Careers advisers from Working Wales were on hand throughout the event to offer free employability support, including guidance on CV writing and interview preparation.
Arwel Owen, Working Wales Team Manager said: “Our recruitment event with Allports was a great success. Having our Careers Wales centre right here on the high street means we are easy and convenient for members of the public to get to us.
“It’s great to hear that at least one person has already been offered a job as a result of coming to the event. We wish them all the best in their new role and are glad Working Wales could play a part in helping them secure that opportunity.”
Rhonwen Allport, owner at Allports, said: “We are pleased with how the event went. It was good to have an opportunity to meet possible candidates with their CVs for an informal chat or interview in a central, easily accessible location. Careers Wales made us feel very welcome and were very helpful.”
Working Wales is delivered by Careers Wales and funded by the Welsh Government to provide careers guidance and employability support to those aged 16 and above.
