Applications are now open for parents/carers of eligible children to apply for a full-time nursery place in September 2023 or a part-time nursery place from January or April 2024.

To fill in an application, parents/carers can simply sign up to My Account on Bridgend County Borough Council’s website using their computer, tablet or mobile.

The deadline to apply is Friday 24 March 2023 at 4pm for full-time nursery applications and Thursday 31 August 2023 at 4pm for part-time nursery applications.

The admissions authority for voluntary aided schools is the governing body of the individual school concerned. To apply for a place at one of the following schools, please contact the school directly: Archdeacon John Lewis Church in Wales Primary School, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School (Bridgend), St Mary’s and St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School (Maesteg) and St Robert’s Roman Catholic Primary School (Aberkenfig).

Cllr Jon-Paul Blundell, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “The easiest way for parents and carers to apply for local authority-run school places is online, which makes the process faster and more convenient.

“Parents and carers of all eligible children must complete an application for a full-time nursery place for their child, even if the child is attending a part-time nursery class in either January 2023 or April 2023. There is no automatic right to a full-time nursery place in September 2023 for any child.

“To make sure your child has a place at your selected nursery, please get your application in before the relevant deadline.”

If parents/carers have submitted their application online, they will be able to see in My Account that it has been received. They will then be notified of the outcome of Full-time Nursery applications on 15 May 2023 and Part-time Nursery applications by 31 October 2023.
