Bangor is one of the top 10 most health-conscious cities in the UK

The residents of Bangor have ranked in the top 10 most health-conscious cities in the UK, recent research from Money Expert has found.

After looking at search volume data around healthy habits, it found that those living in the area were most interested in journaling, mindfulness and meditation.

Despite ranking tenth when it came to being the most health-conscious city, 40% of those in Wales said that social media has influenced them to pick up bad habits like smoking, vaping and drinking.

When it comes to breaking those bad habits and adopting a healthier lifestyle, over half (52%) of those living in Wales said that they felt overwhelmed by conflicting health advice.

An abundance of conflicting health news and advice has also impacted the mental health of those living in Wales. Over four in 10 (46%) of those surveyed revealed they feel depressed when looking at health and wellness-related news.

The research also revealed that when it comes to living a healthier lifestyle, not everyone has access to the services and amenities to help break bad habits. As over a third (39%) said that greater access to services or amenities would help them live a healthier lifestyle.

Discussing the results, Philip Stubbins, Managing Director at Money Expert said, “Breaking bad habits can be extremely difficult and with the many sources of conflicting advice, a lack of access to relevant services and amenities, and time spent consuming potentially negative content, it can be difficult to pinpoint how exactly you can make positive lifestyle changes.”

“The cost of living crisis is currently presenting lots of tough decisions for families and individuals around the country. Although life insurance may not seem a top priority, it can provide peace of mind when the future looks less certain.”

“When planning for the future and considering your ongoing health, it could be worth taking out a life insurance policy as a way of protecting your family financially should the worst happen. Compare a range of life insurance quotes at moneyexpert.com to find the right deal for you.”
