Barclays’ Eagle Lab speaker advises Welsh businesses on creativity and innovation
“Is innovation your top priority?” – was the question posed by best-selling author and multi-time entrepreneur Chris Griffiths as he addressed the audience at the Barclays innovation event, hosted by Cardiff’s Eagle Lab last week.
In 2017, 25% of all CEOs said that innovation was their top priority. Chris gave the audience food for thought with a Q&A session and tips for leaders looking to breathe innovation in the lifeblood of their companies.
With 28 years of experience in setting up and leading successful businesses which have been featured on the “Deloitte European Fast 50” and “Sunday Time Fast-Track 100” lists, Chris is no stranger to using strategies of innovation to get ahead in business.
After the successful launch of his most recent book at the London Stock Exchange, Chris shared some of the expertise that went into ‘The Creative Thinking Handbook’ with the audience at Barclays’ Eagle Lab. Key nuggets of advice included thinking without the box and how mistakes are a necessity for progression in business. Chris also drew inspiration from his personal story which led to the establishment of OpenGenius and their recently launched one-of-a-kind innovation app, Ayoa.com.
Speaking after the event, Chris explained:
“It was really great to speak tonight and see so many businesses’ and leaders taking innovation seriously. As modern tech continues to expand, with ever-growing levels of automation, being creative becomes the differentiator in the business world. That’s all innovation is at the end of the day: the application of creativity. Once leaders make that a serious priority, progression and expansion will naturally follow.”
