Be prepared for Easter countryside visits

Denbighshire County Council and the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB are asking people preparing to visit county countryside beauty spots to plan ahead.

As Easter approaches, those wishing to visit Denbighshire’s countryside should check ahead to make sure facilities are open and if possible travel to quieter county sites and walks to help avoid busy periods and parking problems.

Many county outdoor areas have become more popular and drivers are urged to take advanced care to find suitable parking spots or plan alternative transport to reach destinations to cut down on traffic delays.
Measures have been introduced at country parks including Moel Famau, Loggerheads and also at Horseshoe Falls to alleviate parking issues and congestion and drivers are reminded to be respectful of these.

In relation to Horseshoe Falls, visitors coming in on a Saturday can park in Llangollen and use the Dee Valley Picturesque Bus service – https://www.clwydianrangeanddeevalleyaonb.org.uk/projects/the-picturesque-bus/

Parking enforcements officers will also patrol sites of high footfall during the Easter Holidays.

Visitors are also urged to respect countryside rules and be sensible by parking responsibly, not littering and only riding bikes on permitted routes.

If the weather is fine over the period, people ae urged not to have BBQ’s, camping stoves or campfires on the moorland areas of the AONB because of the significant risk of fire.

Dog owners are also reminded to act responsibly and keep their pets on leads when walking through the countryside where livestock is present especially as lambing season continues.
