Bellway has range of homes that qualify for Help to Buy scheme in Wales
House-buyers with Bellway can choose from a range of two and three-bedroom new homes which qualify for the extended Help to Buy scheme in Wales.
The developer currently has a number of properties across different developments in Wales which are for sale below the Help to Buy Wales price cap – now £300,000.
The Welsh Government-backed scheme, which has been extended until 2025, allows people to buy a new-build home with just a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The other 20 per cent of the purchase price is provided as a loan that is interest free for the first five years.
Bellway Wales has five three-bedroom Tailor house types and two three-bedroom Southcott houses eligible for Help to Buy Wales at its Heron’s Mead development, on the former Llanwern steelworks site on the edge of Newport.
Also available with the scheme are a two-bedroom Potter house type at Coed Derw in Llantwit Fardre and a three-bedroom Shipton at Parc Mawr in Penllergaer near Swansea.
Billie Oaten, Sales Director for Bellway Wales, said: “It’s great news for purchasers looking for a new-build home in Wales that the Welsh government, unlike its English counterpart, has decided to extend the Help to Buy scheme. Not only has the Welsh government extended the initiative for another two years but it has also raised the qualifying price cap to £300,000.
“This means that here at Bellway Wales we are able to offer buyers a range of fabulous new-build homes which can be purchased using the scheme. We have a mix of two and three-bedroom properties that are perfect starter homes for couples or young families and come in below the £300,000 cut-off price.”
Bellway Wales is building a total of 152 homes at Heron’s Mead, off Queensway in Llanwern, 184 new homes at Parc Mawr off Brynrhos Crescent in Penllergaer, and 95 homes at Coed Derw, off Llantrisant Road in Llantwit Fardre.
Billie said: “There’s a good selection of Bellway property styles which are eligible for purchase with Help to Buy Wales, with four different designs currently available with the scheme.
“The three-bedroom Tailor and Southcott at Heron’s Mead, for example, feature different layouts but are perfect examples of the high specification and quality that comes with a new Bellway home The Southcott properties have been reduced by nearly £25,000 to give customers the opportunity to live in this home with Help To Buy.
“The three-bedroom Tailor has a kitchen/dining room, which spans the width of the house and has French doors to the garden, and a living room with views out of the front. Meanwhile, the Southcott has accommodation across three floors, with a living room across the rear of the house leading to the garden and a front-facing kitchen/dining room, plus three double bedrooms and a study upstairs.
“Help to Buy Wales is giving more and more people the opportunity of securing a home from Bellway – a company which has achieved a five-star rating from the Home Builders Federation for seven years running. This signifies that more than 90 per cent of our buyers say they would recommend us to a friend.”
Three-bedroom homes at Heron’s Mead are currently priced from £274,995, and at Parc Mawr from £209,995, while two-bedroom homes at Coed Derw are available from £239,995.
