Blake Morgan teams and leading individuals in Wales celebrate success in latest Legal 500 Directory

Blake Morgan’s team in Wales is celebrating after securing an impressive 17 rankings in the 2023 edition of the Legal 500, recognising the firm’s specialist expertise and strength of client service.

The highly-regarded Legal 500 directory recognises the quality of law firms and their lawyers across the UK based on an extensive review process and feedback from clients and peers in the industry. Among its 17 rankings in Wales, 11 of Blake Morgan’s practice areas were ranked ‘Tier 1’ in recognition of their outstanding service and delivery.

The practice areas that achieved Tier 1 status include Corporate and Commercial, Clinical Negligence, Dispute Resolution, Employment, Health and Safety, Insolvency and Corporate Recovery, Intellectual Property, Pensions, Property Litigation, Public Sector and Social Housing.

The “client-focused, responsive and hardworking multidisciplinary team” helped secure a top spot for the Public Sector practice, while the Health and Safety team was recognised for its “hungry lawyers with strong interpersonal skills and razor-sharp brains”.

The firm’s “well-coordinated and knowledgeable” Commercial Property practice was also recognised for its ‘expert concise advice’ provided to a balanced mix of public and private sector stakeholders. In addition, the team was praised for its in-house project and cost management services, which provides a “very holistic service and single point of contact across all aspects of a project’s life cycle”.

Overall, 33 of the firm’s lawyers were recognised individually this year, with four lawyers achieving prestigious ‘Hall of Fame’ status in recognition of their capabilities and standing in the industry. Eve Piffaretti and Claire Rawle were awarded this status as well as Consultants, Rob Cherry and Robin Havard.

Claire Rawle is praised for her “encyclopaedic knowledge of health &safety case law and sound judgement, while Eve Piffaretti’s wealth of experience and first-class legal advice for public sector clients was praised.

In addition to the Hall of Fame listings, 16 Blake Morgan lawyers in Wales achieved ‘leading individual’ status. Among those listed was Joanne Davies, who was praised for ‘combining her straight-forward perspective with technical areas of employment law’, while Louise Howells in the Social Housing team is described as “solutions focused and a natural leader”.

The rankings also recognised promising individuals, with six lawyers awarded ‘Next Generation Partner’ status and seven seen as ‘Rising Stars’.
