Bridgend’s Ford dealer reassures customers they are not affected by planned Ford engine plant closure

The sad news that Ford have decided to close their Bridgend-based engine plant has provoked an unexpected reaction from customers of the nearby Bridgend Ford dealership.  Bridgend Ford, who are a family owned independent company, say they have been inundated with messages of support from local customers wishing them well.

Managing Director, Gary Pesticcio explains:

“Like other businesses in the Bridgend area, we were saddened to learn of the closure of the nearby engine plant, which will hit the town hard, and our thoughts are with their staff, many of whom have given years of service.

“However, as an independent family owned Ford Main Dealer since 1986 we would like to confirm that we are not affected by the recently announced changes at the Ford Engine Plant.  We are an entirely independent dealership with a robust reputation for vehicle sales and customer service in Bridgend and the wider South Wales region.  Far from closing, we are thriving and currently expanding our workforce.

“We really appreciate all the wonderful messages of support from our customers, and I am pleased to reassure them that we will continue to be here to provide excellent customer care alongside Sales and Service of Ford Cars and Commercial Vehicles here in Bridgend and throughout South Wales for the foreseeable future.

“Meanwhile, I would like to extend my support to the workers at Bridgend’s engine plant and I hope they will all find work quickly when the plant shuts it’s doors in autumn 2020.”

Bridgend Ford sell a wide range of private and commercial vehicles and are based on Waterton Industrial Estate just off the A48.
