Remote appointments continue to be available Mon – Sat at mutually convenient times to suit both therapist and client

Is it Safe to Attend a Face to Face Appointment?

Physiotherapist and Clinic Director, Rhian Davies, explains:

“We understand that clients may feel apprehensive about attending a face to face appointment and we would like to assure you that the health and wellbeing of our clients and staff is our utmost priority. We are taking all the recommended precautions based on our governing body The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy & the current Welsh Government Guidelines.

“All staff will be using the appropriate PPE and we have screens erected on our reception desk. Hand washing facilities and hand sanitiser/sterilising wipes are available for clients to use on entry and exit of the clinic. We are staggering appointments and allowing extra time in between clients to sterilize surfaces and make sure clients do not come into contact with one another.”

To support reduction in the spread of the COVID 19 virus and for the safety of others, the Centre is asking that clients only attend the clinic for a face to face appointment if they are fit and well.  Rhian continues:

“We are unable to offer appointments to clients displaying any of the following symptoms:-

  • A high temperature
  • A new, continuous cough
  • If you are deemed as a vulnerable adult
  • If you or a member of your household are self isolating due to COVID 19

“Our reception staff will be taking every clients temperature prior to entering the main reception. This will be taken using a non-contact thermometer. Anyone found to have a high temperature will not be allowed to enter the premises for their appointment.”

Other measures the clinic is taking to minimise contact for clients and staff is to ask clients to wait in their cars rather than reception until their designated appointment time, and the staff taking pre payment via telephone or BACS transfer to avoid handling money and bank cards.

Rhian concludes:

“We hope that clients will feel reassured by the safety measures we have put in place and understand that we can only offer face to face appointments to those who urgently need it. Our remote physio consultations and exercise classes have been very successful and these will continue for the foreseeable future.”
