Every Christmas Bridgend County Borough Council’s children’s social care service organises an appeal for toys and gifts for local children and young people who otherwise may not receive a present on Christmas morning.

The team is looking for items suitable for children and young people aged one to 18 – especially items for teenagers and young adults e.g. toiletry sets, scarves, gloves, make-up, etc. The gifts do not need to be wrapped as the team will sort the gifts into appropriate age groups.

All items need to be new and still in their original packaging, and donations can be dropped off at the Civic Offices, Angel Street, Bridgend or at one of the collection points, before the appeal deadline of 17 December.

Bridgend Toy Appeal 2019 is supported by Bridge FM radio station, Bridgend Shopping Centre and HMP and YOI Parc. The collection points include

Poundland (Open Monday to Wednesday & Saturdays 8am – 6pm, Thursday & Friday 8am – 7pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm)
