COUSINS Ollie and Harvey Roberts are pulling out all the stops for their local hospice by creating a two foot, floral metal masterpiece to raise vital funds for those with life-limiting illnesses.
The teenagers, who are pupils at Ysgol Rhosnesni in Wrexham set up their metal design business during lockdown with the help of their grandfather, Tony Roberts, a former blacksmith at Brymbo Steelworks.
Their creation is a stunning combination of eight pink, red and white steel roses with a symbolic robin made from a spoon and fork, tied together with a pink metal ribbon.
For every donation made via the boys’ Just Giving page, participants will be entered into a draw to win the exclusive Nightingale artwork. Already the boys’ £200 target has been smashed and is currently over £500, which will be gifted to the hospice towards patient care. The draw will take place on Facebook live on Friday, 25 February, 2022.
Ollie and Harvey said: “We have chosen to raise money for Nightingale House because the hospice has cared for family members of ours in the past, and the care and support they give is incredible.”
Granddad Tony Roberts said: “I am so proud of my grandsons Ollie and Harvey who have designed and created this one off, bespoke piece to raise funds for Nightingale House. It makes me so proud seeing how far they have come from making keyholders and bottle holders, to unique designs like this. In a few weeks’ time someone will be lucky enough to take these “Nightingale” roses home.”
