Caerphilly County Borough Council in partnership with Careers Wales will hold a virtual job fair for 16-19 year olds
The ever-popular Live Vacancy Event is set to return VIRTUALLY on 1st July from 2pm to 3pm, rebranded as Which Way Now?
These Live Vacancy Events usually attract hundreds of young people who are seeking employment, education or training opportunities.
This year Caerphilly County Borough Council in partnership with Careers Wales will bring a different kind of event to you, rebranded as Which Way Now? We want to encourage our young residents aged 16-19 throughout the borough to join us for this virtual event – which could put you on the path to a new career opportunity.
There will be a diverse range of employers and training providers attending who will offer a wide range of advice, training and job opportunities.
Some of these include:
- Information on college courses from Coleg Y Cymoedd and Coleg Gwent
- Information on higher education opportunities
- Information on traineeships and apprenticeships
- Local job vacancies
- General careers guidance
- Help with job search skills
Which Way Now? will be held on Microsoft Teams.
Young people who take part in the live event can participate in the question and answer session with the providers through an anonymous chat room. Which Way Now? will also be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel if you cannot attend on the day. The link to the live event is http://bit.ly/ccbcwhichwaynow, enter this in your search bar on 1st July at 2pm. You do not need a Microsoft Teams account to join.
Cllr. Philippa Marsden, Leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “I am so pleased to see that Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Youth Service and Careers Wales are holding Which Way Now? They have organised the Live Vacancy Events for the past four years, so it is great to see a virtual replacement for such an important event during these difficult times. We are committed to providing education and employment opportunities for all our young residents, and we are delighted to be able to work with our partners again to be able to do this virtually.”
For more information please contact John Poyner (Engagement and Progression Co-ordinator for the Caerphilly Youth Service) on 01443 864970 and tuned in for the event on the day.
