Cardiff based Solar Planet launches business to connect UK homeowners with reputable Solar Installers

A new start up based in South Wales hopes to connect UK householders with vetted and experienced solar panel installers, in order to help protect the environment and help households save money on their bills during the cost of living crisis.

Solar Planet founder, Paul, believes that there can be a lot of myths and confusion around solar energy and wants to support households who want to learn more about how harnessing the sun can help play a part in reducing the risks of climate change.

Paul says:

“I believe that climate change is the defining challenge of our generation.

“Our climate is changing before our eyes and time is running out to prevent the threat from climate change.  Accelerated coastal erosion and flooding is projected to affect 11% of all properties in Wales alone, and 65,000 of these properties are already facing a significant likelihood of flooding.

“Doing nothing about the climate is not an option – human survival depends on it.  As energy bills are increasing anyway, maximising the use of natural resources like the sun offers a common sense way to both help our environment and have an impact on bills too.

“With solar panels installed, an average-sized home may prevent almost a tonne of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere each year – but it’s not always easy for homeowners to find the right installers or to know the best solution for their property.

“It’s with this is mind that Solar Planet was formed – helping homeowners connect with reputable, experienced installers.”

Solar Planet has partnered with accredited Solar Panel installers across the whole of the UK, including Wales, where the company is based.

The idea is simple, you fill out your interest on the website, the company connects you with a local installer, and they visit your property to discuss your options & take measurements.  If you want to go ahead, you agree on an installation date and before you know it you will be reaping the rewards of clean energy.

Solar energy is independent, and mounting solar panels on your roof is a secure and straightforward way to harness natural energy.

But it’s always raining in Wales!

One of the most common myths about solar panels is that they cannot produce energy in the winter or when it is gloomy outside.

However, as Paul explains, solar panels operate on light rather than heat so this isn’t an issue.  Paul says:

“Even on a typical Welsh cloudy, grey day, there is still more than enough daylight to make solar panels a viable option for Welsh energy consumers, even though it is undoubtedly true that the best electrical production will occur in bright, sunny weather.”
