Cardiff entrepreneur named one of 2023’s most inspiring female founders
A Cardiff businesswoman has been named one of the UK’s most inspirational female entrepreneurs by the f:Entrepreneur ‘# ialso100’ campaign.
Sara, who founded public relations and content consultancy Sara Robinson Comms in 2019, is profiled alongside 99 female entrepreneurs from across the country as part of the campaign to celebrate the multi-achievements of women running businesses in the UK today.
The f:Entrepreneur campaign was launched in 2017 to raise greater awareness of the impact of female business owners across the country and help provide inspiration to the wider small business community. Delivered by Small Business Britain – the leading champion of small businesses in the UK – the campaign offers events, training and networking opportunities to boost skills, capability, and confidence.
The f:Entrepreneur ‘# ialso100’ line-up sets out to showcase female founders who lead purpose-driven businesses alongside other responsibilities, such as volunteering, mentoring and community support.
Sara was also called out for volunteering in the community, mentoring young entrepreneurs and working as a Cardiff Councillor, representing Grangetown.
On being featured in the #ialso100 line-up, Sara said: “I am so proud to have been selected by the Small Business Britain team for their 2023 f:Entrepreneur ‘# ialso100’ list. It’s difficult not to feel imposter syndrome when looking at some of the incredible, inspirational female founders on the list. But that’s exactly why campaigns like this matter – we can’t be what we can’t see. It’s great that a diverse range of female entrepreneurs are being celebrated in this way, and I’m delighted to be on the list.”
From adaptive fashion designers to female-run private security companies, social enterprise leaders and ethical product manufacturers, this year’s f:Entrepreneur ‘# ialso100′ campaign celebrates inspiring and resilient female entrepreneurs who have flourished despite past years’ challenges, with many still growing or starting new ventures. Many of the businesses featured in this year’s campaign also demonstrate a huge commitment to championing diversity and inclusion and promoting sustainability.
Both f:Entrepreneur and Small Business Britain were founded by Michelle Ovens CBE, the director of Small Business Saturday UK.
“Congratulations to Sara and each of the talented female entrepreneurs featured in this year’s #ialso100,” said Michelle Ovens.
“It is vital that we recognize and celebrate the phenomenal contribution women running businesses are making across the UK, and the far-reaching, positive impact they are having, not just on the economy, but on wider communities too. The last few years have been hugely challenging for small businesses, yet despite this, female entrepreneurship continues to grow and flourish in the UK and is very much at the heart of the UK’s recovery.”
