Cardiff Met students inspired by BAFTA winner and alumna Siân Grigg
Cardiff Met’s commitment to employability and ensuring an industry-led practical education has led to the University being gifted a photo portrait of BAFTA winner alumna Siân Grigg, who will also speak at BAFTA ‘An Audience With’ event at the University’s School of Art and Design.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Wales, BAFTA Cymru, will host an Audience with event with renowned Oscar-nominated Siân, in celebration of ‘Women Leading the Way to Wales’ within the film industry.
The gifted portrait of the former Cardiff School of Art and Design student is one in a collection of prints from the BAFTA exhibition For the Love of Film: Women Leading the Way to Wales.
This is the first time the exhibition, which features selected prints from a recent exhibition held at BAFTA in London, has come to Wales and it includes the addition of a new photograph of Cardiff-based BAFTA winner Siân, taken by Phil Fisk.
This latest collaboration demonstrates the University’s focus on working with businesses and industries and Sian’s portfolio includes The Revenant; The Wolf of Wall Street, Django Unchained and The Great Gatsby.
The exhibition is part of Ffotogallery’s Diffusion Festival; is supported by the Hobson Charity and will open at CSAD today (Tuesday, April 9th), running until April 27th. It is open to the public for free during selected hours.
BAFTA’s An Audience with Siân Grigg event on April 26 coincides with the exhibition and is in partnership with Wales Screen. She will discuss her international feature film career to date, with limited tickets available to the public.
