Cardiff Resident Takes on London Marathon to Support Shelter

London-Marathon

Local runner Lloyd Bridges is gearing up to tackle the iconic London Marathon on Sunday, April 27, to raise funds for the homeless charity Shelter.

Lloyd Bridges, Control Team Manager at National Grid Electricity Distribution, said: “I’ve always been inspired to run the iconic London marathon, long before my running journey even started from watching the coverage on the TV. I think it’s a mix of the challenge of a mass participation event that only 1% of the population ever complete, seeing London landmarks from a completely different perspective and the sheer support along the entire route.”

Lloyd will be joined by nine colleagues from National Grid who have been supporting each other with hints and tips for training and nutrition. The team also has a dedicated contact at Shelter who has provided advice on training, fundraising and how to cope with injuries.
