CUPP, a Welsh owned independent bubble tea company,  is set to open its first store in Wales in St David’s Shopping centre.

The store will open on Thursday August 1st and will celebrate by offering its first 200 customers with a free bubble tea and 50% for customers thereafter.

The company describe themselves as ‘bubble tea pioneers’; striving to refine every element of the famous Taiwanese drink and to make it the freshest and healthiest bubble tea in the UK.

Using housemade and fresh ingredients, including their own housemade fruit purees and brown sugar syrups along with fresh organic milk, great milk alternatives and loose leaf tea.  The company are aiming to refine the process for making bubble tea, and are currently the only UK bubble tea producer to use fresh ingredients rather than artificial, sugary powders and syrups to flavour the bubble teas.

Despite the company’s Welsh heritage, the company launched initially in Bristol in 2012, and now have 4 stores in the city, so there is much excitement ahead of the first Welsh store launch, a kiosk concept in the centre of St David’s Dewi Sant (near Superdry).

Angharad Jackson who is originally from Llanelli and co-owner of CUPP said:

“We’re so excited to be opening a store in our homeland. This will be our first kiosk concept too but we’ve designed it to have the same feel and look as our converted shipping container store in Cabot Circus in Bristol. It’s a unique kiosk which fits perfectly with our brand as a unique bubble tea company.

“We’re really looking forward to bringing our delicious bubble teas to the people of Cardiff.”

“On our opening day, we’ll be giving away a free bubble tea to the first 200 customers for free. We anticipate these will be gone quickly so when they are, all our bubble teas will be 50% off for the rest of the day. This is a great opportunity for first timers and bubble tea connoisseurs to try our teas.”
