Councillor David Daniels, Executive Member for Adult Services and Housing, who was at the Bringing the Community Together event, said: “It was great to see so many faces at the Congress Theatre today, all coming together to mark something which we will all experience in some way, shape or form throughout our lives.
“Awareness and understanding of mental health seems to be making some much-needed progress in recent years, particularly with high-profile campaigns and endorsements from public figures.
“However – with times being as challenging as they are right now – we know that lots of people will be struggling with their mental health. Hopefully events such as this will help make people more confident to share openly their experience of mental health, and seek help and support when they need it most.”
